Gender Inequality
Gender inequality is discrimination on the basis of sex or gender causing one sex or gender to be routinely privileged or prioritized over another.
Gender equality is a fundamental human right and that right is violated by gender based discrimination. It may arise from distinctions regarding biology, psychology, or cultural norms prevalent in the society.
Compared to a century ago, the status of women today has already risen significantly. Men, on the other hand, are also enjoying more life choices than the singular role of breadwinner in a family. The “men are more superior to women” and “women should stay at home” mentalities from the old times are less practical for the modern society we are living in.

Yet, there are still people struggling to achieve equality and fairness among women and men, such as The US is one of only eight countires in the world that does not provide any form of paid maternity leave by federal law.
-
The "Women and Men in Hong Kong Key Statistics" report revealed that close to 90% of men earned more than $10,000 per month in 2018. But only 66.6% of female workers meet that salary mark.

Other factors contributing to the widening gender gap that have garnered more interest in recent years include occupational segregation, the motherhood wage penalty, level of education and gender biases.
Our Mission and Vision
We Égalité are here to promote a free society that we can drop the gender mask where the word"gender" does not exist. We hope that through our products, we can spread the awareness of inequality to more people and influence the public to treat everyone equal so to create a brighter future of gender equality.
Let everyone colours their own lives.
Why Égalité?
It is a french word meaning equality. We hope to promote a discrimination free society where we are not seperated by pink or blue. The problem of sexism is rather serious in France, it was ranked 16th overall in the recent global gender gap report 2021.
Our Logo Design
As you may see the second letter E is reversed and reflected by the original one, this is because we hope to promote equality through making the two "E" identical that match our theme. There is even two equal signs between two E and the word, equality in the middle of Egalite as translated.
